ABBREVIATIONS

  • CH or ch = Chain
  • MR or mr = Magic Ring
  • ST(S) or st(s) = stitch(es)
  • SC or sc = Single Crochet
  • DB or db = Double Crochet
  • TC or tc = Triple (Treble) Crochet
  • SL ST or sl st = Slip Stitch
  • BLO or blo = Back Loop Only
  • INC or inc = Increase

MATERIALS

  • Worsted weight yarn in Light Pink and White (or colors of choice)
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • Stitch Marker
  • Yarn Needle
  • Skinny Chenille yarn will also work with this pattern.

 

BEAR EARS

Make 2 with light pink yarn.

  • R1: Start with a MR, ch 2 and work 12 dc [12]

Close the ring, tie off, and leave a long tail for sewing.

 

BEAR PAWS 

Make 2 with white yarn.

  • R1: CH 7 [7]
  • R2: From the 2nd ch from the hook 5 sc, (4 sc), 4 sc, (3 sc), sl st into the 1st sc [16]
  • R3: (Ch 1, sc), 4 sc, sc inc x4, 5 sc, sc inc x3, sc, sl st into the 1st sc [24]

Leave a long tail for sewing.

 

BEAR HEAD

Start making with white yarn.

  • R1: Ch 9 [9]
  • R2: From the 3rd ch from the hook make 6 dc, (6 dc), continue on the other side of the ch and make 7 dc, ch 2 & turn [19]
  • R3: 7 dc, dc inc x6, 6 dc, ch 2 and turn [25]
  • R4: 8 dc, dc inc, dc, 2 dc inc, dc, 2 dc inc, dc, dc inc, 8 dc, ch 1 & turn [31]


For Row 5, you will be working around the head and the ear pieces.

  • R5-A: 9 sc, continue onto any st from the ear and make a blo sc, (blo hdc, blo hdc in) x4, blo sc.
  • R5-B: Back on the head skp 3 sts then make 7 sc, continue onto any st from the next ear and make a blo sc, (blo hdc, blo hdc in) x4, blo sc.
  • R5-C: Back on the head skip 4 then make 9 sc and tie off [53]
